M. Kilburg Reedy is an attorney with two decades of experience practicing in the areas of entertainment law and intellectual property, with a concentration in theater contracts, financing and securities, but also including work in publishing, film, television, copyright, trademark, digital media and music.
She has done Broadway legal work for the production, producer, or rights holders of shows such as Looped, Xanadu The Musical, A Tale of Two Cities The Musical, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Bill Maher: Victory Begins At Home, Electra starring Zoe Wanamaker, It Ain’t Nothin’ But The Blues, Hairspray, Triumph of Love, The Color Purple, and Chicago.

Television and film work includes serving as production counsel or legal consultant for Easter Mysteries (2016), a captured theatrical performance of an Easter oratorio by John O’Boyle, Thao’s Library, a documentary about an American woman whose encounter with an agent orange survivor in Viet Nam changes both their lives, and Let’s Talk About Sex (2009), a documentary about teenage sexuality in the U.S. and abroad.
Ms. Reedy is a legal consultant to various not-for-profit theater companies, including Royal Family Productions.
SPEAKING AND PRESENTATIONS
Ms. Reedy has lectured on Theater Law and Business at the Commercial Theater Institute, Theatre Resources Unlimited, the Broadway League, and for the Media and Entertainment Team at JPMorgan Chase, all in New York City, and at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
Since 2006 she has been a faculty member of the Wilkes University Master of Arts in Creative Writing, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, where she lectures twice yearly on Legal Issues for Creative Writers.
